7 Day Prayer Focus

DAY 1 - Pray for Love & Unity

May we value unity over divisiveness for the sake of the glory of Jesus Christ. As we seek to be peacemakers, show us how to be unified as a

church so we will be known for our love.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy

and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.  If I give all I

possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing…

And now these three remain: faith,

hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

- 1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 13

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond

of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God

and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

- Ephesians 4:2-6

DAY 2 - Pray for Wisdom & Discernment

God, give us a desire for Your Word as the true source of wisdom and a heart of receptivity to the teaching and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

- Proverbs 3:5-6

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free. Your

word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. - Psalm 119:11, 32, 105

DAY 3 - Pray for Perseverance

God, give us the wisdom to see joy even in suffering, since we know suffering leads to a more mature and complete faith.

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not

be faint.

- Isaiah 40:31

Count it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter trials of many kinds, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

- James 1:2

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side,

but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our

body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for

Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. - 2 Corinthians 4:7-11

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

- 2 Corinthians 5:17

DAY 4 - Pray for Marriages & Families

God, give us the vision you have for our families so we will be protected from the evil one and we will not be ignorant of satan’s schemes.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily

angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes,

always perseveres.

- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,

in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

- Matthew 6:13

DAY 5  - Pray for Ministry & Mission

We pray that many more will come to know, love and follow Jesus this year. Lord, we ask you to increase in us a volunteer spirit of working

together to accomplish Your mission. Make us Your ambassadors in 2024.

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.

- Matthew 9:37-38

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled

to God.

- 2 Corinthians 5:20

DAY 6 - Pray For Those Who Are Experiencing Hardship -

In Our Church, In Our Community, And Throughout The World

God, show us how to help the hurting and needy.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains — where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

- Psalm 121:1-2

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit the orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself

unstained by the world.

- James 1:27

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a

rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put

their trust in him.

- Psalm 40:1-3

DAY 7 - Pray for Unity & Reconciliation, Restoration

Lord, remove every hint of prejudice, bigotry, racism or animosity within us. Enable us to resemble Jesus in how we show love and respect to all people. Lord bless me that no bitterness, fatigue or unhealthy thinking hinders my faith you, my trust in your well and my view of the world.

Give us your heart of inclusion for every people, tongue and tribe.

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

– Romans 15:7

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation

Psalm 51:10-12
